Basket Screen
The basket screen is a coarse, usually manual screen type used in wastewater treatment plants. It is typically located at the beginning of the preliminary treatment line or in small-scale plants. As the name suggests, it uses a perforated basket structure to retain large solids in the wastewater.

How It Works?
- As wastewater passes through the channel or tank, it is directed into the perforated basket.
- Large solids (cloth, plastic, wood pieces, etc.) are retained in the basket holes.
- These retained materials are removed manually (by hand) or by a hoisting system at intervals and sent for disposal.
