CONVEYORS

Conveyors used in wastewater treatment plants are mechanical transport systems used for transferring, discharging, or directing solid materials (screenings, sand, sludge, etc.) to disposal areas. These equipment play a crucial role especially in preliminary treatment and sludge treatment units.

Types of Conveyors Used in Wastewater Treatment Plants

  • Screw Conveyor
Transports solid materials through a pipe or trough a conduit using a rotating screw (helix). It is a closed system and offers advantages in terms of odor and hygiene.
    Usage Areas:
    – Transport of screening waste
    – Conveyance of sand from grit chambers
    – Transfer of dried sludge
  • Belt Conveyor
Transports solid material on a rotating belt. Suitable for high-capacity, continuous transport.
    Usage Areas:
    – Transport of sludge after dewatering
    – Directing pressed sludge into containers
